A painting company can offer a variety of services, but you need to know if they can take care of your project. Many of them do interior and exterior painting. They don’t care if it is a small home, a large house, or a business that the work needs to be completed for. They are willing to take it on to meet the needs of every single customer.

Other painting company entities though only offer very specific services. This is often due to the limited skills they can offer, the type of work they prefer, and even the types of equipment the business owns. They want to be fair and stay within a framework that allows them to do an exceptional job for every single customer.

Internet Search

A simple way to learn about the various painting company businesses in your area is to do a search online. You can get their phone numbers, business address, and some of them have websites. Visiting their website can share with you when they started, some information about the owner, and even offer pictures of jobs completed. Such information is easy to obtain.

Ask Around

Since such work is very common, there is a good chance you know people who have hired a painting company recently. This could be family, friends, or people you work with. Perhaps you frequent a particular business and you love the recent paint job they received. Ask the owner who did the work for them and tell them how much you like it!

Check the BBB

What is the reputation of a given painting company? This information should be explored before you get in touch with them. Find out about customer complaints and if they have any complaints with the BBB. If you get indicators they don’t offer the best work or they don’t make customers happy, it wouldn’t make sense to work with them.

If you find positive reviews about a painting company and they don’t have a negative rating with the BBB, consider getting in touch with them. Ask a few questions so you get a feel of what they may be able to offer you. Tell them about the specific types of work you need done. If they do offer such services, schedule a consultation.

Talk to them

Have a list of questions ready when they show up for the consultation. In addition to giving you an estimate for the job, they should be able to give you information. Ask them if you can view pictures of work they have done for others. Ideally, you want to see before and after images. This allows you to see what the place looked like when they arrived and when they left after the job.

If they don’t have such pictures with them at the consultation, ask if you can make a time to come see them or if they can bring them to you. They may offer to email them to you but they should comply without any hesitation. If they are dragging their feet to show you work, your risk factor goes up. They may be trying to hide the fact they don’t have many jobs done.

The worst case scenario is they may not have good work to show you. Don’t get suckered into agreeing to hire them for painting to be conducted if you haven’t seen what they can do. It is far easier to find another provider than it is to have to struggle with getting poorly done paint work corrected because you hired the wrong painting company to do it for you.
